Almudena Cathedral, Madrid Spain

The Almudena Cathedral (Catedral de la Almudena) is Madrid's largest and most impressive church.  It is located across the plaza from the Palacio Real in the Royal Palace district of Madrid Spain.  Visitors are impressed by the lavish interior of this Neo-Gothic cathedral.  Construction of the Almudena Cathedral began in 1879 and took many decades to complete.
